Chris Bowen

I am a calligrapher using lettering in all sorts of ways, from straightforward, legible, formal writing to abstract, painterly compositions. The letterforms, especially calligraphic shapes, and text form an integral part of my work, being the starting point and inspiration as well as a large part of the subject and content of the final pieces. Colour and texture are also very important to me.

I enjoy working on one-off pieces, commissions, and from personal motivation.

Another aspect of my work is teaching people of all ages from children to grandparents. These demonstrations, workshops and courses involve a broad range of calligraphic and mixed media techniques for those of any ability or experience and are usually tailored for a specific purpose.

Price range from £50 upwards. (The images shown vary between £150 - £300)
