Having abandoned a career in architecture to pursue my dream of being an artist, I found myself instantly drawn to portraiture.

I've always been captivated by the nuances of form and expression that give people their uniqueness, and I revel in the challenge of capturing likeness and personality.

I am also embarking on an exciting journey into exploring other art forms and mediums. Our relationship with nature, the expectations of our culture and how we respond to the language of symbology are inspirations that have long been clamouring for my creative expression.

But for now at least, portraiture is my first love. I feel a sense of honour to play a part in the expression of love and pride that are so often the motivation behind commissioning a painting of this type, be it of a loved one, a beloved animal, or favourite location. I am happy to work from sittings but prefer to work from photographs because it is easier for me to understand and convey the moment or expression that the client wishes to capture.

Commissions welcome, portraits and paintings in oil and other media from £70.
